Do not alter your name servers or cancel your hosting account at your previous host yet! - Your first step is to sign up for any hosting account with us. After we receive your payment, you will get your setup email within 15 minutes. In your welcome email you will find your user names and passwords for your hosting control panel, billing login, and support system.
- You will be able to login via FTP, Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc. using the IP address in your welcome email. This will allow you to upload your site to our system.
- You will also find a temporary link to view your site on our servers before you switch DNS. This will allow you to make sure everything works perfectly before changing DNS to point to us. To check this simply point your web browser to http://your_ip_address/~your_user_name after uploading your site. For example, http://251.51.151.233/~USERNAME Make sure to replace "251.51.151.233" with the IP address in your welcome email, and replace "~USERNAME" with your actual username. If you have any questions about how to do this, simply submit a support ticket to http://support.hyperactivehosting.com and a technician will provide assistance.
- Once your site is uploaded to us, you need to change your DNS name servers at your registrar so the internet knows you have moved. In your setup email you will find four name servers. These are the name servers you provide to your registrar. If your registrar does not give you a method to change them yourself, you may call or email your registrar and have them do it.If you do not know who your registrar is, go to http://www.easywhois.com and type in your domain name, it will then tell you who your registrar is, or you may contact us via support ticket at http://support.hyperactivehosting.com and we will tell you who your registrar is.
- Once you have updated DNS name servers at your registrar, it will take up to 48 hours for the DNS changes to propagate on the internet. If after 48 hours you still cannot access your site on our servers, make sure the DNS nameserver changes took affect by visiting http://www.easywhois.com and you should see our name servers listed there for your domain name. If not, contact your registrar again to find out why the problem is not resolved.
- Once DNS points to our name servers, and you have uploadedyour site to our system and verified it by using the above instructions, you may cancel your prior hosts services.
